What is a treatment plan?

When you begin treatment at the DBT Center of Marin you’ll have two to three sessions with one of our therapists during which you’ll establish rapport and assess compatibility. During this process your therapist will assess the issues that brought you into therapy and how DBT can help resolve them. This will be articulated to you in the form of a proposed treatment plan which includes a summary of the issues that brought into therapy, it may also include an initial diagnosis, and it will outline which of our services we think are appropriate to best help you.

Treatment plans will either be for informed DBT or for comprehensive DBT. In some cases, our therapists will determine that DBT is not the best fit for you or that our programs are not the best fit for you. In these cases, we’ll typically provide a referral to a more appropriate program.
