Suhadee (Su) Henriquez, LCSW, is a bilingual LatinX Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist and retired Commercial Airline Flight Attendant with over two decades of global flying experience across diverse cultures and populations. Currently, she founded and maintains a Private Psychotherapy Practice under Multicultural CBT-DBT, LLC, also known as The Flying Psychotherapist.

Specializing in fear of flying, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, addictions, and personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Emotional Dysregulation, Su is dedicated to helping individuals facing relationship difficulties, perfectionism, procrastination, chronic pain, disordered eating, substance abuse, hospice end-of-life care for humans and pets, and managing suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors.

 
 

As a Hispanic woman committed to serving multicultural backgrounds and the LGBTQIA2+ Community, Su integrates diversity and inclusion seamlessly into her practice. She defines Diversity as encompassing a range of human differences such as race, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, age, physical ability, social class, veteran status, religion, and political beliefs. Inclusion, to Su, is the active practice of including diverse individuals as colleagues and clients.

 
 

Background & Licensure


Su is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), having been part of the pioneering team that established the first Spanish-Speaking DBT Program in the United States at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She currently serves as the Coordinator of International Spanish DBT Programs worldwide. Additionally, she received direct training from renowned experts such as Dr. Edna Foa, creator of Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, and Melanie Harned, Ph.D., creator of DBT for PTSD.

Her therapeutic toolbox includes Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for chronic pain, and Family Connections and life skills interventions.

Beyond her clinical practice, Su is a supervisor and is a sought-after speaker, having delivered talks globally at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University, Yale, Vaughn College of Aeronautic Engineering, and Aviation forums. Her approach is characterized by individualized care, ensuring each client's unique goals and needs are addressed effectively.
