Jia Mizell's treatment approach begins with providing a safe and collaborative space for clients to feel heard, validated, and supported throughout their therapeutic healing journey.
Jia helps her clients address difficult personal challenges and explore the roots of their core emotions in order to develop healthy coping skills. Working together, Jia will create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences with care while relieving distress and building resilience.
Jia's specialties are relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, couples therapy, child and teen therapy, addiction, ADHD, grief, loss, bicultural relationships and BIPOC/ LGBTQ+ care. She feels especially honored to support young people in developing their identity and self-esteem, and to help couples deepen empathy, trust, and mutual understanding.
Background & Licensure
Jia is a registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology from Amherst College. She received her Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).
